[July 15, 2025] Orange Fin Tracks – A Recommendation and Reflection on My 177th Backing Track
Today, I’d like to talk about the 177th backing track I created. Now that some time has passed since I completed the project, I find that this track stirs up even more thoughts and emotions than it did initially. That’s why I’m writing this blog post—to organize and reflect on those feelings.
"Orange Fin Tracks" is my YouTube channel, where I share original backing tracks that I compose, arrange, and perform myself. The channel is an open space for guitarists who love music and want to freely express their emotions through their playing. So far, I’ve uploaded over 170 tracks, and many players have embraced them in their own unique ways.
Among them, the 177th track stands out in a special way. From the beginning, I didn’t aim for a flashy or complex arrangement. Instead, I intentionally left space in the music to allow emotions to flow naturally. The guitar tone is balanced—not too bright, not too dark—and the chord progression is simple yet effective in carrying the mood and emotional flow of the piece.
When creating backing tracks, my top priority is ensuring that the track doesn’t interfere with the guitarist’s emotional expression. I avoid overly dominant melodies or rhythms and focus on leaving enough space and atmosphere for the performer. This 177th track, I believe, best reflects that philosophy.
When I revisited the track a few days ago, it felt even more emotional than when I first completed it. I realized that what I was feeling at the time was deeply embedded in the music—and through this piece, I was able to revisit those feelings. It reminded me that music is often a personal diary, a record of emotion captured in sound.
If you’re a guitarist reading this, I highly recommend giving this 177th track a try. It’s not about flashy techniques or difficult skills—rather, it’s about expressing your mood and emotions as they are. Just pick up your guitar, follow your own rhythm, and see where it takes you. And if you end up creating a performance video or audio, I would sincerely appreciate it if you shared it with me via comments or messages.
Seeing how other musicians interpret my tracks continues to inspire me. Different emotions and interpretations layered over the same track always bring fresh perspectives, and sometimes even reignite my own creative energy. On Orange Fin Tracks, several artists have shared their performances, and some interpretations were so unexpected and moving that they left a lasting impression on me.
Orange Fin Tracks is not just a collection of music—it’s a space where I share pieces of my daily emotions through the backing tracks I create. My hope is that these tracks bring comfort or inspiration to others. Each one holds its own story, and the 177th is especially meaningful to me.
This post serves both as a reflection and a recommendation. As Hyun Soo Lee(이현수)—also known as Orange Fin—it’s deeply fulfilling to know that my music can become a vehicle for someone else’s expression. I’ll continue uploading more backing tracks to the Orange Fin Tracks channel moving forward.
By documenting each track through blog posts like this, I find myself returning to the mindset I had when I first started. It helps guide me as I consider what kind of music I want to create next. The “Orange Fin Reflections” series will continue, so if you’re interested, please also visit and subscribe to my YouTube channel.
